This Christmas is the first one my boyfriend and I have had where it’s been just us living together – past Christmasses we’ve either lived apart or had housemates – so I was super excited to get our first tree together and decorate the flat.
We basically needed to get everything – tree, lights, decorations. I knew I wanted to have traditional Christmas colours, but decided to have a bit of a theme to help reign myself in a bit, and chose “Woodland”.
I already had a bunch of toadstool decorations I’d bought the year before, and some lovely gold dipped feather decorations a friend of mine made.
Most of what I picked up was from Ikea and Tiger (the red apples, which were my favourite, were from Tiger), so they were all very reasonably priced!
I’d arranged to have some friends over for a little Christmas night in, and wanted to make the place feel as cosy and festive as possible, so I also ordered a bunch of scatter cushions, from Asda and Homebase, all of which were around £10 or less.
I couldn’t find a Christmas garland that I liked, so I chose to make my own with brown craft card, butchers string, and posca pens
I’m loving how cosy the flat feels, the sun can’t go down quick enough so I can enjoy the twinkly lights with my feet up, reindeer slippers on, and a cup of hot chocolate, and of course, a Christmas staple… Chocolate coins 😀
